Jeunghun Wang shot a 65, five under par, to lead after Round 2 at LIV Golf Promotions in Florida, one stroke ahead of Richard T. Lee, Bjorn Hellgren, and Sadom Kaewkanjana. These players, alongside other Asian Tour and International Series standouts, head into the weekend with scores reset to even par, chasing three prized LIV Golf League spots.
Wang's form has surged lately. He finished second at the Moutai Singapore Open, losing in a playoff to Yosuke Asaji, now with LIV Golf.
"I'm thrilled to play the next two days," Wang said. "I'm pumped and will give it everything."
He credits The International Series, especially Singapore, for boosting his confidence. "I struggled before that event, but competing against top fields, including LIV pros, prepared me," he added. "Asaji's success motivates me—proves I can make it too."
One shot back, Canada's Richard T. Lee posted a 68 with four under, featuring two eagles on the tough course. After opening with a 64, he birdied early, stuck a five-wood close on nine for eagle, and holed from a waste bunker on 16.
"The layout punishes errors, like false fronts killing par chances," Lee said. "Six under then four under feels solid. Stay smart, grab birdies when available." He praised the strong Asian Tour field pushing for majors and LIV spots.
Hellgren from Sweden and Thailand's Kaewkanjana also trail Wang by one.
Cut-makers starting even par include Australia's Travis Smyth, Thailand's Jazz Janewattananond, Sarit Suwannarut, Danthai Boonma, Rattanon Wannasrichan, America's Anthony Kim, Philippines' Miguel Tabuena, and Zimbabwe's Kieran Vincent—as the fight for LIV cards heats up.
